The White Stripes have accused the U.S. Air Force of plagiarizing their song ‘Fell In Love With A Girl' for a recruitment advert that was shown during the Superbowl on Sunday. The band issued a statement saying, ‘We believe our song was re-recorded and used without permission of The White Stripes, ourpublishers, label or management. The White Stripes take strong insult and objection to the Air Force Reserves presenting this advert with the implication that we licensed one of our songs to encourage recruitment during a war we do not support.' Composer, Kem Fraft insisted he did not copy the band's 2001 hit and has apologized to the duo for the similarities, claiming them to be coincidental. The Air Force is yet to comment.
