The Rolling Stones have reached Number One in the UK album charts

It's been nearly forty years since the original Exile On Main St. reached number one the first time round, but the stoic veterans of rock n' roll have done it again...

Their remastered double album released earlier this month, has hit number one in the UK album charts with the help of some previously unreleased material recorded during the 'Exile' sessions.

This release is the band's first number one album since 'Voodoo Lounge' outstripped the competition in 1994, and managed to pip both Faithless and Plan B to the post in this week's epic chart battle.
