Paul Weller

Paul Weller's album 'Wake Up The Nation' is now favourite to win tonight's Barclaycard Mercury Music ward.

The XX, who were originally favourites at William Hill, were knocked off the top spot when over 100 people from the Birmingham area chose to stump for Weller.

William Hill subsequently dropped the odds on a Weller as the victor.

The winner of the prize will be announced tonight at the awards ceremony at the Grovesnor House Hotel in London.

The ceremony is live on BBC 2 and BBC Radio 6.

The odds for other nominees are as follows: The XX at 15/8, Wild Beasts 10/1,  Laura Marling 12/1, folk heroes Mumford and Sons at 12/1, Foals 14/1, Villagers at 14/1, I am Kloot at 20/1, Biffy Clyro at 33/1, Corinne Bailey Rae at 40/1, Dizzee Rascal 66/1 and the Kit Downes Trio at 66/1.
