Gibson unleash their sleek new SG
Word reaches us this month of a slightly more develish new electric from Gibson. The latest top-of-the-range SG is the mighty Diablo Premium Plus (£1199), carved from solid mahogany with a luxurious Grade AAA maple top.
No expense has been spared on the wax-potted pickups; the Burstbucker Pro Rhythm at the neck and Burstbucker Pro Lead at the bridge both use Alnico V magnets and 42AWG wire in order to supply a broad range of rock tones on tap.
Solid, top spec hardware comes in the form of locking Grover tuners and lock-down TonePros Tune-o-matic bridge and tailpiece that won’t let you down.
This tidy new SG is also kind on the eyes and three classy finish options - Iced Tea, Trans Black and Manhattan Midnight (pictured) - are a considered touch . Inspect all the finer details at www.gibson.com.
