Mississipi Delta hero Honey Boy Edwards has passed away

The Last of the Great Mississippi Delta Bluesmen’ David ‘Honeyboy’ Edwards passed away on August 29th aged 96.

The Grammy-winning legend was active on the blues circuit right up to his retirement in July this year, although health problems meant he had to cancel any further shows; his last gig was at the Juke Joint Festival in Clarksdale, Mississipi. In his long and rich life, Edwards was friends with Robert Johnson and played alongside Big Joe Williams amongst others.
