Fishman's new bass stomp box will give bass players a gigantic sound using stacked harmonics

Harmonizers aren't just the realm of six-stringers, so when we heard news of Fishman's new Bass Powerchord we were all smiles.

This new stomp box allows bassists to layer up harmonies and beef up the bottom end nicely. It's intuitive controls and footswitches are used to produce powerchords or octave-up effects with combinations of octaves, on top of 4ths and 5ths above the root note.

The lightweight Bass Powerchord FX has four footswitch LEDs and multi-effects with up to 3 voices of harmony, adjustable noise gate, overdrive, tone and effect level.

Fission Bass utilizes 32-bit signal processing and 24-bit audio conversion and its monophonic input accepts a wide range of pickups.

Here's what JHS say:

Monster bass tones, overdrive and stacked harmonies: introducing the Fishman Fission Bass Powerchord FX

Leading acoustic amplification brand Fishman has branched out to new pastures to produce a new pedal to help bassists rise to the top of the mix with stacked harmonies and punchy overdrive - the Fishman Fission Bass Powerchord FX.

Through an intuitive set of controls and foot switches, the Fission Bass Powerchord FX (£349rrp) allows bassists to create several combinations of octaves, as well as 4ths and 5ths above the root note to produce meaty power chords. Sounds can be tweaked through Noise Gate, Overdrive, Tone and Effect Level controls.
